Description
Georgia Pacific Corrugated in Ridgeway, VA, is a manufacturer of corrugated containers. We plan to hire several General Laborers, which are entry-level positions in the plant. The starting wage is $12.53 per hour. General Laborers assist on machine centers performing tasks such as feeding the machines, manning the Load Formers, getting up stock, and helping with machine set ups. General Floor Helpers have the opportunity to advance as openings occur.
Basic Qualifications:
Be 18 years or older
Be committed to safety and organizational goals
Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
Be able to work in a hot, humid, noisy, and high volume machine production area
Be able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, and stooping)
Be able to work 12 hour shifts, overtime, and weekends/holidays
Possess a mechanical aptitude in order to troubleshoot machine problems
Have basic computer skills
Manufacturing experience preferred. Applicants must be available to work any of 3 production shifts and scheduled overtime, including occasional weekend work.
Applicants meeting the criteria above must successfully pass a pre-employment test, interview, background investigation and drug screening in order to qualify for full-time employment.
