SUMMARY: The Plant Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the plant operations including production, cost, quality, and safety of the facility. The Plant Manager is the key leader for the plant and has accountability for the achievement of the plant's performance objectives and expenditures. Through implementing lean manufacturing practices that will reduce costs, and quality improvement measures to increase customer satisfaction, the Plant Manager will ensure the final product is produced accurately, timely and cost-effectively. RESPONSIBILITIES . Directs operations to ensure productions schedule and customer requirements are met. Uses independent judgment and discretion to make decisions that affects the productivity of the facility. . Manage and monitor production costs to estimated standards and implement strategies to increase profit margins. . Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual financial reviews to track progress against operating plan. . Monitor and measure departmental performance and efficiencies and actively seek input for cost containment strategies. . Create and execute initiatives that will improve day-to-day performance in downtime reduction, waste reduction, improvement of line speeds, skills improvement and reduction of errors. . Create plant business plans and capital-funding justifications to ensure operation is aligned with the overall strategic plan. . Coordinate maintenance and repair activities and ensure compliance to maintenance plans . Reinforce quality initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and reduce process variation. . Ensure compliance with safety/environmental regulations. Promote effective company safety programs in support of a safe work environment. . Research emerging technology within industry. . Communicate with all employees regarding company changes, initiatives and financial progress. . Provide guidance, development and training to direct reports as well as all employees within plant to promote high performance and succession planning Job Location East Longmeadow, MA, US.
