Responsible for the structural assessments of repairs to Commercial engine components. Knowledge of IPD, Structures ESW, & the Product Design Review process. Provide structural analyses in support of Commercial Repair IPT activities. Coordinate structural analysis requirements for repairs with module centers/CIPT's. Work independently on structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable.
GSE structures provides a work environment that fosters increased development of engineering fundamentals with knowledge development of Fracture Mechanics and FEA (ANSYS) modeling, as well as good engineering judgment, with an eye on "common sense". Needs to be able to technically manage low cost outsourcing.

A minimum of 5+ years of experience conducting structural analyses on gas turbine components. Familiar with major rotating/static part repair processes and evaluation. Working knowledge of ANSYS/NASTRAN is required. Familiarity with UG is desired. Experience using P&W lifing (U553) & crack growth (SURCK) systems. Awareness of manufacturing repair processes and/or composites experience.
