Bowhead is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Duties: The Health, Safety, Environmental, and Training (HSET) Coordinator provides HSET support and direction for subsidiary companies and client sites. This position administers the safety compliance and inspection program, provides training, and interacts at all levels of the company with both direct and indirect authority. Post Accident investigation, reporting as well as the implementation of post loss control procedures will be required. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge, experience, and have a proven ability to deliver effective safety performance. The candidate may also perform various administrative and logistical support duties as assigned.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. 3. Climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching or crawling. 4. Pulling or pushing. 5. Ability to ID and distinguish colors. 6. Reach/relocate items above shoulders. 7. Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, and adverse weather conditions. 8. Ability to distinguish difference in noise levels and work in high noise areas. 9. Office Environment: The environmental conditions consist of computer stations and desks with adequate and adjustable lighting. Chairs are designed to fit the individual and the tasks being performed. Dual monitors are utilized when projects specify their necessity. Ergonomic evaluations are completed as needed, to provide up to date modifications to all work stations. All employees interact with co-workers on a regular basis. Additional external environmental hazards are identified below.
Field Environment: The environment includes work on a variety of client sites. Potential hazards include: limited or dimmed lighting, respiratory hazards, flammable & combustible environments, heat and cold stress, hazardous chemical substances, confined space locations, noise, static electricity, & adverse weather conditions. In addition to hazards identified above, job safety analysis may be required to be conducted prior to work in new locations, for the purpose of environmental hazards identification.
Required Skills
Associates Degree with a minimum of ten (10) years experience as a Loss Control, Compliance Inspector and / or Safety Trainer or a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Loss Control, Compliance Inspector and / or Safety Trainer. The candidate should have knowledge of Substance Abuse testing and procedures, Workers Compensation claims handling, HAZCOM, HAZWOPER and HAZMAT regulations. Familiarization with 29CFR1916, 29CFR1910 and EM 385-1-1 required. Must posses a valid state driver's license. Must be certified in either STS (Safety Training Supervisor) or CSM (Certified Safety Manager).
