IIS Web Server Administrator
Our client, a Fortune 500 computer hardware manufacturer, is seeking an IIS Web Server Administrator to join their team for a long term project (6+ months). The IIS Web Server Administrator's role is to design, install, administer, and optimize web servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. This includes ensuring the availability of web applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Where applicable, the Web Server Administrator will assist in overseeing the security, integrity, and uptime of the web servers owned by my department. This position requires:
Sound knowledge of IIS 6.0/IIS 70 Web Servers and Configuration of Web Apps.
Sound knowledge of Windows 2008 Server, Windows Authentication and Windows Services.
Expertise in creating/maintaining new web apps/and or virtual folders and permissions on IIS 7.0
Familiar with App pools and IIS Logs to debug server issues
Experience working with Software Development and QA Teams to deploy Web Apps and Updates as necessary.
Knowledge of programming in C .net and scripting will be helpful.
Good Communication Skills.
