Inspector I
Position Summary / Key Job Responsibilities: Responsible for inspection of product at both production and final stages to insure the quality of product and conformance to company, customer, and AS9100 standards. Inspects product by using measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, straight edges, etc, to insure conformance to customer specifications. Visually examines product for surface defects such as cracks or pits. Rejects defective product, and marks type of defect on part or inspection tag. R eports and documents inspection results. Supports company's traceability and identification requirements. Reads prints to determine tolerances. Verifies sub-contractor inspection reports. Any other duties deemed appropriate by management.
Qualifications / Requirements: High School Graduate and 1+ year previous experience in product inspection, preferably in a metals industry. Good verbal and written communication skills required to i nteract with customers, coworkers, and supervision. This position requires integrity to represent the best interest of the company and its' customers.
Position requires bending, stooping, standing, and walking. Ability to lift up to 50# unassisted. Ability to operate overhead cranes, and forklifts as required. Familiarity with measuring devices such as taper gauges, straight edges, calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and others. Mastery of basic math skills and ability to use both metric and standard units of measurement.
Exposure to heat, cold, and loud noise. Works around industrial equipment and should be familiar with all applicable safety requirements.
