A member of our Technical Services Division, located in Suffolk, VA, has an opportunity for an
Intelligence Model & Simulation Planner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The Mod & Sim Planner will work with the SIM/C4 group and individual model representatives for all models to ensure they support intelligence exercise requirements and are integrated into the Joint Training Configuration. Incumbent must exercise joint intelligence architectures and coordinate implementation, maintenance, and repair of communications paths, which effect connectivity during exercise execution. Perform other duties and tasking as assigned by branch head. Incumbent is required to maintain subject matter expertise for functional requirements, development, and testing upgrades and transition interfaces of current and future production and intelligence M&S systems. Planner is responsible for the integration of intelligence simulation models into USJFCOM's Tier II/III training program and other Joint and Coalition exercises as required.
The following is a list of some of the models providing activity in the HLA/RTI (High Level Architecture/Run Time Interface): National Wargaming System (NWARS), AIR/SPACE Constructive Environment Information Operations Suite (ACE-IOS, Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Air Force Synthetic Environment for Reconnaissance and Surveillance (AFSERS/MUSE), Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF), Virtual Surveillance Target and Attack Radar Systems (VSTARS), Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST), Automated Scripter Simulator Exercise Trainer (ASSET), JTLS (Joint Theater Level Simulation), next generation constructive models, and other models as required.
Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
• Must be able to travel unassisted to CONUS and foreign locations. Estimated travel 25% of the year
• B.S. & seven to ten (7-10) years of former military and/or government intelligence experience required
• Must be able to perform 12-hour watches and work weekends when required by the exercise schedule
• Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills are absolutely essential for problem solving
• Requires COCOM level Intelligence collections planning experience in support of COCOM and MRX exercises
• Requires an extensive knowledge of intelligence support to JCS/Joint Coalition Warfighting Center (JCWC) joint training program
• Must have a working knowledge of the intelligence cycle, Joint Exercise Lifecycle, National and Tactical intelligence collections platforms, capabilities/ procedures, & USMTF messages
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current and active U.S. Top Secret level security clearance with a current SBI to support a TS/SCI work center environment in order to be selected. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
• Current operational experience working Intel models is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with computer-assisted exercises is preferred.
• Expert level experience and background in Intelligence Community is highly desirable.
• Experience working joint/combined exercises at the COCOM and JTF levels desired.
• Knowledge and experience in intelligence community system planning and utilization process a definite plus.
• Knowledge of collection tasking systems (i.e. Planning Tool for ISR Synchronization Management (PRISM), Geospatial Intelligence Management System (GIMS) is highly preferred.
