Job Description Interior Systems, Inc., a dynamic and growing interior design and manufacturing firm currently has opportunities for an Interior Designer to work from our office location in Milwaukee, WI.
Under the direction of the Sr. Interior Designer, the Interior Designer 2 is responsible for the completion of (mid-to-high profile) customer projects (both team-based and independent), will meet customer specifications while ensuring the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, and will do so in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: ? Coordinate with Sales Representatives and Internal resources to develop customer specifications, make formal sales presentations, conduct site visits and collaborates in developing proposals. ? Develop and complete preliminary design through final concept per customer specifications. ? Coordinates with sales representatives and internal resources to ensure the timely completion of projects, on time and within budgets. ? Develops product, manufacturing and production knowledge base through training, and will assist in developing estimates according to procedures. ? Utilizes CAD skills to build floor plans, perimeters, elevations and presentations as needed. ? Developing 3D rendering proficiency. Develops studio and prelim production knowledge base through training and collaboration with CAD, Projects Managers, Studio Art and Prelim departments to foster inter-departmental relationships and communication ? Complete Special Projects as necessary. ? Developing knowledge base of the corporate processes and methods required to achieve the organization?s standards for quality, in accordance with the organization?s principles. ? Remain current in technology and changes in the industry. ? Actively participate in design critiques. Will utilize and seek out recommendations for personal development. Incorporate examples to facilitate advancement of technical proficiencies and practical applications. ? Assist in completing internal office responsibilities including Resource Room organizing, scheduling vendor visits, new vendor and material approvals, etc.
Required Skills EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor?s degree in job- related field, and six years of experience; or a combination of education and experience. (Restaurant/Education design experience)
The Interior Designer completes customer projects, ensuring the highest quality while maintaining budget, and meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements. These positions will work closely with sales representatives, vendors and customers to define specifications and identify materials/products. The Interior Designer may be responsible to conduct formal project presentations and assist in developing and negotiating contracts.
