Intern Technical Designer Materials Processes Technology
Serves under supervision for a specified period within the occupation and skill area that directly relates to their college/technical degree. Perform tasks associated with technical, laboratory, machine shop, and factory production support for military rotorcraft programs including CH-47 Chinook and V-22 Osprey helicopters. Perform tasks associated with material testing and manufacturing technology to support composite component production, drive train and rotor system critical component fabrication and assembly, airframe assembly, integration and test and as part of the BR&T (Boeing Research & Technology) Department. Learn how the Materials Engineering and or Manufacturing Research and Development group works with other organizations (e.g. Design, Stress, Test, Production and Flight Test), and operates within a large company setting. Apply knowledge of laboratory instruments, machine shop equipment, testing equipment, blueprint reading, metallics, composites, standards, and assembly including, repair methods, coupon development, and dimensional evaluations.

Basic Qualifications For ConsiderationAre you currently enrolled in a college or university within the Science or Engineering disciplines or are you currently enrolled in a Machine Shop, Tool and Die, or other Mechanical Apprentice program?
Typical Education/Experience
High school diploma or GED.
Other Job related information
Prefer candidates enrolled in an Associates program. Must be comfortable working in various environments including hands-on laboratory, factory shop support and professional office settings, and should the opportunity arise, to travel with engineers to various suppliers. Must possess good interpersonal, communication and multi-tasking skills, fluency with Microsoft Office Suite such as MS Word and Excel.
