RockTenn?s Data Warehouse group is seeking an experienced data warehouse developer utilizing Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning solutions. This position reports to the IT Data Warehouse Manager, and works very closely with Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting & Planning departments. Ideally the candidate will have experience with the Microsoft Business Intelligence suite (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) but it is not required.
This position will liaise with the Business and Project teams to enhance and implement the existing Hyperion Planning environment. In addition, the position provides day-to-day operational support for the Corporate Accounting and Finance departments. There is a current effort underway to upgrade the existing Hyperion Planning system. This position should have experience in upgrading Hyperion systems and be able to provide major support in that endeavor. Experience using the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and Sql Server) is also required in order to develop and support other data warehouse projects in the pipeline. This job will require experience with end to end solutions, including ETL, data scrubbing, loading, and reporting. Candidate must be proficient in writing and optimizing table indexes, stored procedures and triggers, as well as database design. SSIS and VB .Net development experience is required. Must create and maintain basic technical documentation. Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
Position responsibilities include: · Analyze the current Hyperion environment and processes to drive improvements to system availability and performance. · Provide on-demand support to Finance/Accounting by developing queries and reports to satisfy ad hoc business questions and demands. · Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions using Hyperion Planning / Essbase API calls with Standard Excel VBA scripts for Budget and Planning. · Assist the finance team in the annual budget and forecast processes, maintaining and enhancing current cubes and process flows. · Respond to urgent business process questions and requests from users in a high speed, urgency environment. · Data Warehouse design and development, adhering to Kimball methodology. · Play an active role working within the current Data Warehouse Team in the early stages of current project initiatives. · Develop reporting solutions using SSRS/SSAS/Performance Point technologies. · Identify data cleansing opportunities, promoting data cleansing standards.
Required Skills: Skills/Knowledge Required: ? Candidate must have worked in a functional consulting capacity on at least 1 Hyperion implementation project. ? Knowledge of Hyperion Planning application is essential. ? 5 years experience working with Hyperion Essbase, Planning, Financial Reporting, Load Rules, Calc scripts (write/maintain/enhance), database tuning and optimization, batch scripting, and MAXL knowledge necessary. ? Good understanding of Finance/Accounting data and ability to communicate clearly on that topic. ? Candidate will have worked in an enterprise data warehousing environment and should possess relevant experience in designing and developing Microsoft databases and reports. ? Proven experience of building relational data warehouses and Analysis Services cubes. ? Experience writing applications in VB .Net is required. ASP .Net and MSAccess is a plus. ? Strong communication skills, ability to articulate ideas clearly ? Leadership skills, ability to manage expectations, handle difficult situations ? Desire and ability to lead and suggest change; strong capability to identify improvements, develop implementation plans, and execute against those plans. ? Ability to understand and adapt to new technologies / technology platforms. ? Ability to organize and plan work to meet goals and deadlines. ? Fundamental project management skills, ability to decompose work into component tasks and understand resource commitments. ? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects running simultaneously. ? Must be able to work independently, yet a strong team player. ? Ability to cope with stress and deadlines.
Skills/Knowledge Desired: · Familiarity with Hyperion System 7 and 11 is a plus. · Understanding of JDEdwards financial system, especially database tables, is a plus. · Strong customer facing and communication skills. · Adhere to production support processes, implementation change management procedures and SOX related processes in completing assignments. · Develop and test minor system enhancements and coordinate the delivery of future major system enhancements. · Coordinate user requirements and acceptance testing. · Maintain system and user documentation. · Experience in a workplace using Scrum / Agile work methodologies. · Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence suite (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS). · BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Finance or Accounting.
