Description
This position, based in Washington, NJ, will function as a key member of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Laboratory servicing a specialty chemical manufacturing facility.
Compliance standards include all applicable GMP, ISO and RCMS requirements. Position responsibilities include performing analytical analyses on various process streams, on finished products, raw materials and product shipments. Responsibilities also include recording and evaluating test data as well as reporting results as appropriate.
Qualifications
An Associates Degree in Chemistry or a related field or equivalent is required.
The ability to work a rotating shift and the flexibility to cover vacations and other open periods is required.
Strict attention to detail and follow up skills are essential.
Knowledge of laboratory procedures
Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry with emphasis on performance of standard laboratory tests, the properties of products produced and the quality standards involved
Basic knowledge of reagents and equipment used for testing and familiarity with gas chromatographic equipment (Expect three to six months to become proficient with the primary laboratory tests and procedures)
Experience with GC, UV/Vis, FTIR, acid-base titrations, viscosities, melting points is desirable.
Experience in a GMP laboratory associated with a production facility is desirable.
