The Fountain Group is a professional services company and we have an IMMEDIATE contract job opening with one of our clients for a Quality Tech Description: To support laboratory and manufacturing personnel by performing basic laboratory duties. Hours: primarily second shift-3:00 pm - 11:00 pm; however, TBD. Does involve some weekend and holiday work. Position Responsibilities and Specific Duties: 1. Carry out QC testing per schedule for finished products and assist in necessary in-process testing. a. Instrumentation includes GCs, LCs, Autotitrators, IR, 2. Maintain proficiency in all required QC tests and operation of QC equipment. 3. Ensure all QC records are maintained in timely and orderly state. 4. Make up and standardize reagents. 5. Formulate spray wax and other batches as necessary. 6. Assist Plant Operators lab testing. 7. Ensure reference standard testing is done per procedure. a. Ensure data is entered into WinLims/NWA in a timely manner. 8. Keep the lab clean and stocked. 9. Continue to work on improving accuracy of laboratory testing methods. 10. Perform quality and environmental tests as needed. 11. Perform testing on products that are near or past shelf life. 12. Prepare buffers and provide attention to HPLCs. a. This includes general maintenance to these instruments. 13. Provide general maintenance to GCs within QC Lab. 14. Ensure that lab equipment calibration is up to date. a. Maintain records of lab calibration data. 15. Perform and be knowledgeable in various SAP transactions that affect raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. 16. Provide support to the Plant Operators, Management, and Plant when needed. 17. Label and maintain retains. Keep retains organized and accessible. 18. Have a working knowledge and be able to perform all of the necessary ASTM methods required by customers. Knowledge & Skills: 1. Minimum 2 years of college or equivalent experience. 2. Knowledge of analytical instrumentation and techniques. 3. Good lab practices. 4. Strong math skills. 5. Process, chemistry and statistics knowledge preferred.
