LASER OPERATOR- Chicago, Illinois Olympic Steel, a leading national steel service center, is seeking a talented addition to our staff. Status:Full Time Responsibilities The Laser Operator position is responsible for all job activities (tasks) associated with the actual cutting of the parts and the proper removal and identification of the laser cut parts from the laser cutting table and packaging. This includes: . Ensuring proper tech table values, nozzle selection, material checks, cut quality, transformations, and quality inspections. . Perform measuring device checks as required by procedures. . Do pre-processing material verification. . Maintain and replace necessary consumables as required to maximize cut quality. . Keep machines running at 100% efficiency . Work with Machine Operator Assistant and coordinate activity to ensure parts are packaged in a timely manner. . Raw material movement (receiving and staging)
