Posted Position Title Lead Sourcing Specialist Career Level Experienced Function Sourcing Function Segment Sourcing Location United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces Georgia City Atlanta Postal Code 30339-8402 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting Sourcing / Procurement processes related to Power Generation Services (PGS) Sourcing Operations. This role will solve complex problems, execute objectives, and support short-term / long-term business goals. Essential Responsibilities A key element of this position will be to provide functional support to internal customers, ensure business strategies are followed for fulfillment, quality, and savings working closely with business leaders to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and are of high quality. In this role of Sourcing Specialist, you will:
* Expedite and prioritize supply chain to meet emergency, forced outages, and short cycle customer demands
* Interface with internal customers to expedite and resolve customer issues
* Measure and analyze supplier performance and drive resolution on performance issues
* Manage all purchase orders to ensure on time delivery
* Work with Order Management team to improve on time delivery and reduce span on backordered material
* Drive Lean process improvements to mitigate and reduce fulfillment risk caused by both internal and external issues
* Work closely with other sourcing functions to ensure that sourcing metrics are reached for fulfillment, cost, and quality
* Identify opportunities for cost savings with suppliers
* Mitigate and minimize cancellation and expediting fees with suppliers
* Drive the elimination of supplier defects that are received into our warehouse
* Have the ability to organize, assess, prioritize tasks, risks, resources, milestones and deliverables Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Business discipline ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Green Belt Certified (GE employees only)
* Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. * Knowledge of GE Energy Parts Inc. (GEEPI) Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
* Technical knowledge of turbine parts
