Job Description Summary: Summary: Reporting to the Supervisor, General Machining, as the Night Shift Machine Shop Technician, you will produce aircraft parts to drawing while operating a variety of CNC boring mills. The successful candidate will be required to multi-task and operate a variety of boring mills as required. Primary Responsibilities: . Perform own set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes) . Perform deep boring, outside diameter machining to hardened steel . Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes, calculating feed and speeds and performing operator self-verification (OSV) . Document actions in support of quality logs and communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision . Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings . Support and promote continuous improvement in the cell . Perform other duties as assigned based on skills and qualifications Basic Qualifications: Qualifications: . Minimum Qualifications for "B" Entry Level: - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent plus recognized and accredited college/trade program plus three (3) years at Machinist "C" level plus General Machinist / Tool Die Certificate of Qualification or recognized and accredited college/trade program plus General Machinist / Tool Die Certificate of Qualification plus five (5) or more years prior outside Machining experience . C of Q strongly preferred . Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, utilize micrometers, verniers, etc., in support of quality requirements . Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner . Strong verbal and written communication skills (English) . Willingness to train and operate other machines in the cell and willingness to work overtime .
