Job Description Summary: Summary:
Reporting to the Weekend Night Shift supervisor, as the 3rd Shift Machine Shop Technician, you will produce aircraft parts to drawing/MPS while operating a CNC G/L Floor Borer. Please note that this is a steady weekend night shift position. You will work 30.5 hours but get paid for 37.5 hours. (Friday 6pm - Saturday 6am, Saturday 6am - Sunday 6am, Sunday 6pm - Monday 2am)
Primary Responsibilities:
. Perform own set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes) while performing regular Boring Mill duties . Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes, calculating feed and speeds and performing self inspection (SI&A) . Document actions in support of quality logs and communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision . Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings . Support and promote continuous improvement and 5S activities in the cell . Perform other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications: Qualifications:
. Community College Diploma combined with 3 years' machining experience OR 5-7 years' machining experience in a similar environment OR Grade 12 Diploma or approved equivalent plus Community College Diploma OR 40 week machine shop course plus 1 year experience . Previous Boring Mill experience required with G&L boring mill experience preferred . Certificate of Qualification would be considered an asset . Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, utilize micrometers, verniers, etc., in support of quality requirements . Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner . Strong verbal and written communication skills (English) . Willingness to train and operate other machines in the cell and willingness to work overtime . Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP .
