Job Description Summary: Summary:
Reporting to the shift supervisor, as the Machine Shop Technician, you will produce aircraft parts to drawing while operating a CNC machining centre/lathe and/or boring mill, but you will be expected to multi task other machines as required. This position will be steady afternoon shift position (3pm -11pm) based on production needs.
Primary responsibilities: . Perform own set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes) . Perform boring, hole-drilling and machining of hardened steel . Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes, calculating feed and speeds and performing operator self-verification (OSV) . Document actions in support of quality logs and communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision . Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings . Support and promote continuous improvement in the cell . Perform other duties and multi-task as assigned Basic Qualifications: Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications for "B" Entry Level: . Grade 12 diploma or equivalent plus recognized and accredited college/trade program plus three (3) years at Machinist "C" level plus General Machinist / Tool Die Certificate of Qualification or recognized and accredited college/trade program plus General Machinist / Tool Die Certificate of Qualification plus five (5) or more years prior outside Machining experience . 5+ years boring mill and lathe experience preferred . Certificate of Qualification would be considered an asset . Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, utilize micrometers, verniers, etc., in support of quality requirements . Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner . Strong verbal and written communication skills (English) . Willingness to train and operate other machines in the cell and willingness to work overtime . Goodrich Core Foundation Competencies including Ethics, Integrity, Values and Trust .
