Under little to no supervision program, set up and operate machinery and inspect machined components using precision measuring equipment while keeping production records, maintenance logs and GMP documentation.
•Will set up and perform frequent to specialized tasks using standard and/or non-standard procedures using a wide range of machine tools. •Will work from engineering drawings and/or specifications. •May plan machining sequences and create part routings. •May load, edit and/or troubleshoot part programs and tool data in the Integrated Manufacturing area. •Will determine tool offsets and load tooling into machinery at correct settings. •Will select correct speeds and feeds and maintain cutting tools. •Will use precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet engineering specifications.
•Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, etc.). •Must be able to follow detailed instruction, inspection procedures and product appearance, etc.). •Must be able to complete detailed documentation accurately. •Must be able to communicate component part issues to supervisory and/or engineering personnel. •Must be able to analyze and correct non-routine machining issues of a broad scope using independent judgment. •Advanced schematic reading skills. •Effective interpersonal communication skills. •Advanced math and measuring skills. •Ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, etc.), power tools, and measuring equipment. •Demonstrated problem-solving skills. •3-5 years related machining experience. •Participation in an approved apprenticeship program recommended. •Higher proficiency in requirements listed for Production Machinist. •Independent Judgement. •Problem solving skills.
