Description
Color-Box, a Georgia-Pacific company, manufactures high quality, creative point-of-sale packaging. We currently have an opening at our Harrington, DE plant for a:
SENIOR MECHANIC - 2ND SHIFT
$20.00/hr. + 50 cents for shift differential
Although the position is currently available on the 2nd shift (3 p.m. to 11 p.m.), candidates must be able to work on ANY shift, with variable start times, including overtime, weekends, and holidays (as scheduled).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- At least 5 years of previous experience as an Industrial Electrician or Maintenance Mechanic (electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment)
- Demonstrated ability to read technical diagrams and schematics
- Knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform maintenance on electrical controls, adjustable motors drives, and switchgears
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely and stand for extended periods of time
- Willingness to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, bump cap, full leather steel-toed boots, maintenance uniforms, etc.)
- Willingness to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Willingness to work in a tobacco-free environment
- Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment
PREFERRED:
- Previous experience troubleshooting and repairing printing presses, laminators, and/or die cutters
- Working knowledge of PLCs/drives
- Previous experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system
- Previous experience operating a motorized forklift and/or clamp truck
- Licensed Electrician
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot and repair electric/electronic equipment, as well as hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems
- Record maintenance and repair activities in a computer-based system
- Actively participate in PM program
- Utilize skills to improve equipment reliability
- Adhere to all plant environmental, health and safety guidelines, policies and practices
