Description: Responsible for motivating and ensuring that the shift's maintenance technicians are ready to perform their job each day. Responsible for determining who works on each maintenance task. Spends the majority of the day on the floor with the technicians and is continually available to them throughout the day. This position is responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative environmental impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To assign work and manage the maintenance team and PSO's who are responsible for janitorial services and qualified to handle hazardous waste. 2. To reduce the number of reactive work orders for their assigned equipment. 3. To complete weekly list of planned work, by communicating with the Production Managers to schedule and complete the work. 4. To implement PM program for their assigned equipment. 5. To manage the CMMS system to ensure the work orders are updated properly. 6. To address all reactive (ER) work orders. 7. To facilitate failure analysis process for their assigned lines. 8. To assist Maintenance in attaining tools and equipment. 9. To ensure all team members are properly trained. 10. To assist team in troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures. 11. To troubleshoot and repair production equipment. Requirements: 1. Appropriate education in either electrical or mechanical engineering or repair with experience in machine tool maintenance. Prior machine tool maintenance and supervisory experience is an acceptable alternative to education. 2. Knowledge of or training in OSHA standards is helpful. 3. Experience in electrical/mechanical repair of CNC/PLC controlled machine tools including troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems. 4. Work requires self-motivation, creativity, and flexible thought processing. 5. Work requires ability to delegate assignments, supervise, and train employees in order to meet deadlines. 6. Good interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, are necessary to supervise employees in a fair and consistent manner. These skills are also needed to deal effectively with a diverse group of internal and external contacts.
