Job Title Maintenance Supervisor Job ID Number 7-NE-09 Company Ordnance & Tactical Systems Location St. Marks, FL Job Category Construction, Mining and Trades Job Description Directs the daily activities of a multidiscipline group of mechanical maintenance employees. Coaches and mentors employees to insure they follow all established safety procedures, have the tools and resources to perform work as required, and get proper development to improve their skills over time. Communicates with internal customers and maintenance scheduler to assure that maintenance activities are planned, scheduled, and performed in a manner that results in the most efficient use of resources and the least possible interruption to production activities. Monitors work backlog and assists with prioritizing and scheduling of work. Manages projects requiring outside contract services including determination of applicable specifications, scope definition, pre-job planning, and contractor oversight. Works closely with the Maintenance Engineer to achieve continuous improvement in equipment reliability within assigned areas of responsibility. Maintains accurate records pertaining to work performed employee issues, and regulatory compliance issues. Participates on various teams and committees to help insure that all plant activities are carried out in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Provides coverage for other Maintenance Department supervisors, as ition requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in industrial maintenance supervision. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree or completion of a trade school program would be a plus, along with hands-on experience in a mechanical or electrical craft.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/SPECIAL SKILLS Must have maintenance supervisory experience in an industrial setting, preferably in a chemical or process industry. Maintenance craft background with emphasis on machine shop experience and equipment repair is required. Understanding of basic equipment maintenance practices applicable to a chemical manufacturing environment. Logical decision-making ability. Effective organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Working knowledge of basic computer applications. Familiarity with various preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Understanding and ability to apply various reliability methodologies. Attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, dependable, good attendance, and excellent problem solving and analytical skills. This person must also be a self-starter and have the ability to operate with limited supervision and exercise a high degree of independent decision-making, discretion and judgment. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be dependable, ethical and trustworthy.
