What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Team Leader at John Deere Des Moines Works in Ankeny, IA you will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of skilled trades employees which include daily time report completion, manage work schedules and expenses that meet the departments operating budgets. In addition you will:

* Provide maintenance support for the facility and factory operations and ensure completion of preventive maintenance.
* Develop maintenance projects that will enable achievement of department and factory goals.
* Establish and enforce employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules appropriate for the unit.

We need an excellent communicator (both verbal and written) who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally you will possess or are currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience. We also require:

* 2 years of manufacturing experience working in a maintenance environment.
* Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off shifts based on the business needs.
* Possess proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel, and have problem solving skills for working in a team environment.
A strong candidate will also have:
* Knowledge and experience in SAP (for plant maintenance, purchasing, and warehousing systems).
* Six Sigma project management knowledge.
* Previous maintenance supervisory experience.
* Knowledge with budgeting and scheduling.
* Work experience within a union environment.
