The US Industrial Group is comprised of 4 US based plants (Atlanta (GA), Irving (TX), Hunt Valley (MD) and South Bend (IN)) along with 1 international plant located just north of Mexico City, Mexico.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a business owner in a high performance work environment, the Maintenance Team Manager helps to set the tone and expectation within McCormick’s Atlanta Georgia manufacturing and distribution facility. This Manager drives operational excellence for the designated business and ensures business decisions are made based on logic. The goal of the Maintenance Team Manager is to meet the needs of the customer 100% of the time while achieving key indicator results that support strategic objectives, goals, strategies and measures (OGSMs) for multiple shift operations. This person proactively recommends and implements process improvement initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies, and process reliability. The Maintenance Team Manager must be able to effectively teach, coach, train, develop and mentor team members while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people, believing that people will contribute to what they understand and feel is in their best interest for their team and themselves. Under the general supervision of the Plant Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Team Manager will implement, improve, and provide continued support of all maintenance programs and procedures required to proactively and predicatively maintain equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leads and develops approximately 12 non-exempt (hourly) direct reports across three shift, while fostering a cohesive team environment, responsible for meeting or exceeding all safety, quality and production goals
• Owns key metrics leading to the success of the maintenance function including: Process Reliability, PM completion, work order completion, planned and unplanned downtime and employee feedback and development
• Responsible for spending management to achieve targeted budget numbers in maintenance and plant consumable areas.
• Develops, manages, and effectively utilizes Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Autonomous Maintenance, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and general improvement in current maintenance programs (PM, lubrication, etc.)
• Creates a vision and direction for the Maintenance team that is in alignment with McCormick and the Plant Visions as well as supports plant and department Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures (OGSM’s) targeting greater than 80% Process Reliability
• Coaches and supports High Performance Systems (HPS) teams to ensure information flow, employee development, problem-solving, goal setting, barrier removal and process improvements
• Develops and maintains the Preventative Maintenance (PM) system
• Trains and develops direct reports to ensure bench strength that will be prepared to meet future talent needs within McCormick (Technical and Leadership)
• Plans resources to problem solve and make decisions necessary to perform all required work in the most effective and efficient manner
• Leads and participates in cross functional problem solving processes to evaluate, develop, document and implement process improvement projects designed to improve reliability, safety and quality results
• Identifies, analyzes, and reduces equipment downtime and repetitive failures, as well as, ensuring root cause analysis techniques are used to facilitate problem solving activities



Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors degree OR Masters degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a manufacturing plant
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams and/or managing direct reports
• Experience with Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
• Experience with packaging and/or processing equipment
• PLC and equipment controls’ experience
• Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical background / skills
• Willingness to relocate for future assignments
• Ability to work flexible hours to manage a 3 shift operation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• PLC and equipment controls’ experience
• Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) experience
• Experience with boiler systems, compressed air, HVAC systems, and Plant Power Distribution
• Experience in the food and/or beverage manufacturing industry
