POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Maintenance TPM Department Manager, this position manages and directs all Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities and provides leadership and technical expertise to the process and production departments at the Hunt Valley Plant (HVP).
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Leading and developing direct reports while fostering a team environment • Meeting or exceeding established goals (Safety, Process Reliability - PR%, cost, waste, quality, sanitation and other performance standards) as they relate to the performance of packaging equipment • Serving as a maintenance resource, as required, for all Utility Mechanics in areas such Effective Maintenance, Operational based - Automous Maintenance, machine shop, maintenance planning and lubrication processes. • Supporting and developing McCormick’s High Performance Work Systems (MHPS) Business Teams to ensure that information flow, personnel development, problem-solving, goal-setting and process improvements are an integral part of the daily activities • Managing training needs for the PM group to ensure that skill levels are managed and advanced as needed to support plant equipment • Resource planning, daily management, and implementation of key initiatives including Safety, Effective Maintenance, supporting sustained levels of Autonomous Maintenance and delivery of PR% improvements. • Identifying, analyzing, and reducing equipment performance losses and elimination of repetitive loss events. • Working with teams to develop cultural and actionable plans to ensure continuous improvement throughout the plant • Interacting cross-functionally to resolve issues
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering or Electro – Mechanical Engineering preferred • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant required • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience supervising maintenance employees in a manufacturing plant required • Demonstrated experience improving Process Reliability (PR %) and/or Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE %) required • Demonstrated experience with a CMMS, SAP or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tool required • Demonstrated experience maintaining packaging equipment required • Demonstrated experience delivering loss reduction in a packaging machinery environment required • Demonstrated experience utilizing Root Cause Analysis processes required • Demonstrated experience in a high performance and/or team building environment required • Demonstrated planning ability and understanding of business decisions based on financial, inventory and customer service indicators required • Demonstrated participative management and leadership skills required • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required • Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing industry preferred • Experience managing projects/improvements through successful completion preferred • Experience maintaining processing equipment preferred • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) experience preferred • Food manufacturing experience preferred
