Job Description
1. Global Category strategy development, including regional strategy coordination and facilitation for all travel related categories
2. Design sourcing strategies and develop of internal/supplier relationships that extract maximum value from the current and potential travel supplier base. Strategies are continuously challenged and refined.
3. Continuous evaluation and assessment of supplier performance reports consistent with agreed upon contract requirements to insure consistency, quality, and compliance to service and delivery targets.
4. Identify and support product innovation; develop market intelligence and benchmarking; and act as subject matter expert in travel related commodities and market dynamics
5. Leadership of Global Travel Team and Advisory Council, which will support internal Baxter travel policies and procedures
6. On-going Travel Policy monitoring and refinement.
7. Monitor category and/or supplier spending, both in aggregate and via patterns/cycles, and continuously evaluate options to reduce total cost of ownership. In depth understanding of suppliers capabilities, capacity and overall financial stability. Critical aspect of job is developing key scorecard and drill down capabilities for key management and pushing information to their desktops.
8. Direct off-site travel agency personnel to ensure customer service levels are met or exceeded, cost savings are achieved and that a future vision of the agency relationship continues to evolve.
9. Lead supplier selection process and negotiate global contracts. Develop actionable recommendations based on a clear definition and articulation of options and tradeoffs; develops action plans that anticipate implementation problems and leverages internal and supplier capabilities while building full commitment throughout the process.
10. Drive implementation of the Baxter Supplier Quality Standard and develop strong, ethical relationships with world-class suppliers consistent with Baxter Shared Values and Baxter's Business Practice Standard for Suppliers.
11. Manages analysis of complex problems related to suppliers and continuity of supply requiring in-depth analysis of supplier management principles
12. Utilizes a network of benchmarking peers to drive for Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP).
Job Requirements
•Bachelor's Degree
•MBA desirable
•C.P.M. , CCTE or GLP Desirable
•Ability to think strategically and globally
•Excellent project management, facilitation, interpersonal and negotiation skills
•Financial acumen; high degree of ethics
•Ability to build strategic supplier relationships
•Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
•Minimum of 7-10 years travel procurement or related experience required.
