Manager of Rental Operations December 27, 2011 - January 31, 2012 Location: Omaha, NE Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 401K/Profit Sharing, Paid Vacations, Paid Holidays Employment Type: Full Time Department: Rental Description: Provide managerial leadership to staff members within the Rental Sales and Allied Equipment group of NMC. In addition to the parts, supply and service department while driving operations efficiencies and profit to the bottom line, this person will assist in the development of policies and procedures to support compliance while supporting maximum opportunity for revenue growth. Manage rental fleet in most efficient manner on a daily basis to produce maximum utilization.
Duties: Employee Relations:
? Facilitate employee related goals and functions ? Serve as a source for employee concerns, issues, and needs while balancing NMC?s overall direction ? Serve as an HR liaison providing support for employee issues. ? Encourage and monitor career development and performance of store employee ? Build and maintain a competent team through effective recruiting, selection and development ? Conduct one on one employee meetings on a regular schedule and take action to address employee performance issues i. Coaching: To consistently meet and/or exceed the desired outputs for assigned role ii. Feedback: With regard to production output, departmental policies/procedures, personnel issues, etc. iii. Context Setting: Defining/Discussing the ?Big Picture? with regard to current and future work ? Facilitate weekly branch meetings ? Develop and submit talent inventory assessments for bench strength and continued training opportunities
Customer Relations:
? Help facilitate customer functions to promote value added services, etc. ? Effectively handle customer issues as required ? Meet with key customers and prospects on an as needed basis ? Meet and or exceed assigned objective for growth within Product Support and Sales ? Analyze and resolve customer issues escalated from Product Support, Sales or customer ? Assist Facilitations of customer store tours ? Provide input for annual market review and business plan ? Ensure consistent and efficient service ? Provide timely follow-up and resolution for customer concerns ? Act as a liaison with business partners to promote joint cross-selling of products and services ? Provide recommendations for product/process enhancements to drive profitability and efficiency
Corporate Initiatives/Corporate Communications:
? Provide input on corporate initiatives. ? Serve as a professional and consistent Corporate Communications outlet. ? Assist in setting attainable goals Corporate & Local Advocacy & Facilitation Demonstrate organizational advocacy through positive teamwork, trust and mutual respect for customers and employees. Develop and implement initiatives that reinforce the vision and advocacy model of NMC. Align the branch to deliver a quality customer experience every time and instilling the NMC core values. ? Provide local input on key initiatives and help formulate company strategies. ? Ensure NMC policies are understood, communicated and enforced. ? Provide oversight on key local initiatives ? Establish and maintains a safe and clean work environment ? Project a professional image in dress, manner and communication internally and within our market place
Business Management:
? Lead parts, sales and service department within store location to produce world class service ? Provide recommendations on ways to lower branch costs and drive growth ? Work with fellow store managers to find best practices, reduce overall costs, drive revenue growth and support customer satisfaction. ? Responsible for branch financials. ? Lead Personnel thru key corporate initiatives and implement within store. ? Remain updated on credit and other territory activities. ? Support and drive overall NMC culture, one business one team ? Maximize customer service levels ? Review branch auditing and safety procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements ? Direct responsibility for branch financial goals ? Develop and submit updated staffing plans to advise Director of Rental Operations on the staffing levels ? Standardize best practices and processes ? Develop and maintain a set of metrics that define and enable tracking and reporting of team and individual performance ? Observe and oversee staff to ensure that staff meets or exceeds established set goals ? Assist with annual budget proposals. Monitor and develop reporting with regard to budgetary adherence and variances ? Meet or Exceed NMC goals and expectations
Sales Support:
? Support area and total company sales efforts as required.
Supportive/Secondary Job Functions:
? Consistent rhythm and training on NMC (Policies, processes, procedures, etc.) ? Greater overall input and collaboration. ? Training for current position and recommendation of team members training needs ? Develop and track Key Performance Indicators ? 1 plus years of training (Systems, Processes, Financials, etc.) ? Develop collaboration between stores ? Attends meetings as directed by management team. ? Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: ? The ability to be objective ? Ability to work with and lead staff ? Possess excellent negotiation skills ? Ability to coach, counsel and confront team members within store ? Good Oral and Written communication skills ? Accounting and finance skills ? Computer knowledge. Experience with Microsoft software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. ? Competent oral and written communication skills ? Strong product knowledge ? Proven fleet management skills
Education and Experience:
? Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent ? Previous Management Experience in Rental Industry
