Manufacturing Engineer-Injection Molding/PLC/Automotive
IMMEDIATE NEED with a leader in automotive safety located near Boston, MA. Client is searching for an Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a direct hire basis.
Responsibilities:
-> Provide day-to-day support to the manufacturing operations within the plant with emphasis on automation, robotic de-molding and product flow improvements
-> Develop, design and review work measurement standards such as part routings and manufacturing instructions. Provide manufacturing with necessary tools and equipment to meet OEE goals for productivity and first quality
-> Provide or obtain cost estimates for manufacturing tooling as it relates to assigned projects. Propose and obtain quotes for automation alternatives for high volume production. Design responsible for end of arm tooling for the molding operation
-> Responsible for capital budgeting and expenditure process; identify requirements, create project scope and justification, implement and track expenditures to budget
-> Negotiate timing, cost and terms of completion from the suppliers of the various technology being proposed
-> Provide plant layout alternatives to improve production flow. Team member of lean workshops to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs. Provide alternate material handling methods while maintaining sound ergonomic principles and safety guidelines
Requirements:
-> B.S. in Plastics / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent education and experience required
-> 3 Years experience in injection molding operations
-> Manufacturing for the automotive industry experience would be a plus, but is not required
-> Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma concepts and principles; Green or Black Belt preferred
-> Knowledge of 3D CAD design
-> Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and programming
-> Working knowledge of vision systems
-> Must be able to troubleshoot and program robots
