What You'll Do

John Deere Waterloo Works is seeking aManufacturing Engineering Supervisor - Drivetrain Machiningto supervise and provide work direction for staff of Machining Manufacturing Engineers, contingents and part-time students in the Drivetrain machining operations. Within this role, you will:
* Manage capital projects driven by PDP, OFP and Capacity needs.
* Support day-to day operations for Business Unit: process optimization and improvement, cost reduction, quality improvement and safety initiatives.
* Manage process development and production introduction for new component parts as part of the PDP and EPDP processes.

To be successful in this role, a Bachelor's Degree in anEngineering/Technology disciplineor equivalent industry experience is required. In addition, we require:
* 5 or more years in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
* Experience with machining processes associated with steel and/or cast iron component manufacturing.
* Demonstrated leadership ability in a manufacturing environment: project management, execution and implementation skills, people management, cross functional teamwork, problem solving and quality improvement.
A strong candidate will also possess:
* Shop operations/supervision experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge and experience in the fields of parallel and intersecting axis gear manufacturing processes.
* Knowledge and experience in general machining operations: lathes, machining centers, I.D. nders.
* Knowledge of tooling and workholding systems.
* Project justification experience.
* Technology implementation experience.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing and business principles and practices.
