Manufacturing Manager
Our global company is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to oversee 1500 manufacturing employees in a 1mm sq. ft. 24/7 facility. This facility, one of three in the US, and is located in an Upper Midwestern community of 70,000, yet enjoys a very large metropolitian city, rated annually in the Top Five Best Cities to Live, within an hour’s drive.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Translate financial goals and objectives to practical operational solutions by identifying and seeking operational opportunities to continually make improvements. Support EMS and World Class manufacturing policies and programs.
Supervise operations to best manage personnel, equipment and materials. Allocate proper manning levels to support subordinates to maintain schedule requirements. Maintain absentee and vacation records for all salaried subordinates. Conduct annual performance reviews. Foster team work among subordinates and production employees.
Communicate with all departments to facilitate proper operations within the plant. Conduct daily production meetings to review and discuss quality, safety, cost, delivery and productivity. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises Area Managers. Indirectly supervises Supervisors. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; developing, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : College degree with major in production management or engineering preferred, and/or equivalent training and experience. : Minimum of seven to 10 years experience in a related industry. : Requires management, leadership, and talent management skills, including problem solving, critical thinking and analysis, decision making, team building, employee development, and labor relations. (Usually acquired through a combination of experience and formal education). : Must have good computer skills.
