Marine Sales Coordinator
Marine Sales Coordinator Location: Beaufort, NC Salary Range: DOE Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full Time Office: Beaufort Description: PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Coordinate and execute engine sales orders as directed by engine sales worksheets/sales agreement and project specifications. Ensure and maintain gross profit margins on sales bids/projects through timely and accurate completion of project management. Coordinate all sales support activities with assigned boat builders. Coordinate timely completion of engine prep through material purchase and flow tracking. Coordinate completed on time product delivery with customers.
DIMENSIONS:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES;
A. Sales Support ? Provides cost information when requested by marine engine sales representatives. ? Handles inquiries and questions regarding particular projects when requested by customer call or walk-in customers. ? Invoices all sales department sales ? Insures accounting is correct, right focus discounts applied, payments received, taxes correctly charged and transit accounts balanced correctly. ? Pay vendor invoices
B. Project Administration/Management
? Works with sales staff to define a project and enter it into production. ? Reviews quote specifications and purchase accessories and miscellaneous components as well as Caterpillar and Marine Gear products. ? Prepares detailed delivery tickets for all engine sales projects and issues them to the delivery team members. ? Contacts various CAT dealers and vendors for equipment availability and receive Dealer inquiries. ? Daily updates the project Management Tracking System. Provides reports as needed to assure timely execution of project requirements and schedules shipments/delivery of projects. ? Answers and resolves customer billing questions. ? Coordinate and schedule engine prep utilizing rigorous material purchasing techniques and process tracking fundamentals. ? Prepare monthly summary of transmission projection requirements for Gear Suppliers. Report shall be updated a minimum once monthly or every OEM schedule change. ? Coordinate stock needs and ordering with Gregory Poole Parts Department. ? Reviews various invoices related to project purchases and orders and compares for accuracy. ? Instruct PSD Inventory Control on invoicing requirements
C. Cost Control
? Reviews all project purchases negotiating the lowest cost/best value buying for project requirements. Deal with all vendors in an equitable and ethical manner. ? Advises sales representative of cost variances or specifications shortfalls. ? Compiles job ending ?washout? analysis for cost and profit review. Maintain ?washout? summary log per job.
D. Service Manuals/Vendor Catalogs
? Reviews all product and sales literature to ensure project information is current. Solicits vendor project information.
E. Special Projects
? Provide weekly summary report reviewing supplier and delivery status for distribution to Marine group. ? Completes special project assigned by management in a factual and timely manner.
MIMIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: At least a two year business or marine related education degree or related work experience demonstrating high multi-tasking aptitude and organizational skills.
Physical: Ability to travel periodically, with occasional overnight stays. Must be able to stand, stoop and climb for on-site inspections.
Other: Valid driver?s license with acceptable driving record. Possess knowledge of or quickly learns Caterpillar engines and related equipment. Become familiar with on-site installations and equipment operations. PC exposure and operations required for Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
