Marine Warehouse Supervisor Location: Beaufort, NC Salary Range: DOE Employment Type: Full Time Office: Beaufort Description: PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supervises the daily Parts Warehouse activities in addition to Front Counter activities and helps with Parts Sales, as needed, to in sure operational efficiency. Insures timely Yellow Ball deliveries, customer deliveries. Maintains high productivity customer pick up area, front counter and retail area, along with our core area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
WAREHOUSING& FRONT COUNTER AREAS: 50% Time Spent
? Maintains personnel expenses with Company budget. ? Keeps Inventory Control Reports updated daily. ? Monitors to insure that customer orders are filled within 15 minutes, and shop orders filled within 30 minutes ? Pull parts and put up stock when needed ? Annual inventory: preparation and execution. ? Assist the front counter associates with the receiving of and creating of part orders when needed. ? Provide technical assistance when needed for the research of part orders. ? All receiving, storing, and distribution activities are carried out in a professional manner and are in keeping with professional warehousing policies. ? Promotes aggressive and suggestive selling by means of product knowledge, personal selling skills, over-the-counter contact, telemarketing and direct mail. ? Handles customer credits accurately and in accordance with Company policy, making sure that all pertinent information is included ? Makes certain that all part salesman follow company policies and procedures when processing orders for resale to both internal and external customers. ? All orders are processed for delivery or pick-up promptly and efficiently the day of receipt. ? Makes certain that all incoming parts are processed properly, loaded, and on records within two working days. ? All shop returns are binned within two days of receipt. ? All incoming parts are located to optimize warehouse space with consideration being given for movement, weight, size and stocking levels. ? All inventory maintenance transactions/changes are entered within two working days of their generation. ? Weekly locations available reports are worked within two days of receipt. ? Daily bin count listings are worked within four hours of receipt. ? No parts are moved in or out of your area of responsibility without documentation. ? Warehousers are trained to be courteous and deal with customers in an efficient businesslike manner making sure that all orders are filled accurately and delivered promptly according to parts department procedures. ? Training is provided to warehousers to provide the customer receives a maximum number of parts in order to minimize plus-on-hand back orders and provide better customer service. ? Insure new employees are trained to properly, adequately and safely perform job duties. ? Work load is scheduled for the warehouse on both a daily and weekly basis. Job assignments are made within the qualifications and capability of parts warehouse personnel. ? Greet customers and answer telephones. While greeting and answering the telephone always promoting a positive image for Gregory Poole Equipment Company.
MANAGEMENT: 30% of Time Spent
? New ideas to improve efficiency, customer service and decrease expenses should Be continuously applied. ? Accurately completing daily and weekly reports. ? Building and grounds security for the warehouse area. ? Make sure warehouse and sales area is clean. ? Assisting with any Vender billing problem reconciliations. ? Receipt of stock and all daily and weekly IC Reports. ? Work with various different departments within the company. Prepare budget: annualized from previous year and set goals for New Year. ? Answering customer complaints by listening and following through. Make the decision with the customer and company both agreeing to terms. ? All personnel in your work group are kept informed of changes in paper flow as it affects your part of the overall operation. ? Responsible for achieving agreed upon standards and meeting deadlines on all assignments as requested by management in areas of departmental responsibility.
PERSONNEL: 20% of Time Spent
? Recruits, interviews and selects candidates for direct reporting positions. ? Orients and trains new associates to his/her job role, safety awareness and other company standards. ? Implements Performance Reviews for all direct reporting associates. ? Provides training and development to increase associates skills and productivity. ? Conducts counseling and progressive disciplining activities to improve performance and/or behavior whenever necessary. ? Performs all termination discharges for voluntary and involuntary reasons.
UNIQUE DEPT. DUTIES
? Provide full use of the variety of information available, including the Caterpillar Microfiche files, SIS, numerical Parts Record and other reference media. Makes certain that all the Microfiche and other references are kept up to date and that all salesmen are utilizing them. ? Follows back-orders closely to ensure prompt delivery upon receipt. Notifies customer upon receipt of back-ordered items. Works directly with CAT order analyst to expedite back-ordered parts
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Two year college degree in business or management with at least one year in parts leadership (Senior Warehouser or Supervisor), or a high school graduate with three years parts experience and one year in parts leadership (Senior Warehouser or Supervisor).
Work Experience: See above.
Physical: Be able to work all physical duties of warehouse personnel and counter reps. must be able to clearly communicate in person and by phone with customers.
Other: Must have advance advanced beginner PC software skill, preferably with MS Office.
