Overview:
Apply nursing principles in promoting the health of workers and maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Provide assessment, treatment; follow-up, referrals and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Actively participate in the Facility Safety Committee. Serve as the liaison between injured/ill associates and benefits/workers compensation. Provide assistance in case management, health promotion, regulatory compliance, (OSHA, FMLA, ADA, etc.) and risk reduction activities for the location.
Key Accountabilities:
Assessment, treatment, follow up, referral and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
Case management of workers compensation claims.
Manage early return to work program.
Integral partner in driving safety within the facility and ensuring compliance with the safety program.
Monitoring compliance with Macy's Logistics safety program and OSHA regulations, including required record keeping, documentation and presentation of results.
Establish and maintain wellness program including education and health promotion.
Counseling and intervention with associates as needed.
Serve as an active permanent member of safety committee.
Provide expertise and support to process management team(s) either as a subject matter expert or team member.
Establish a business partnership with the location to impact claims, work related injuries and overall safety, health and wellness of the associate population.
Establish regular communication with all levels of the organization.
Responsible for compliance with drug testing policies.
Responsible for medical & drug testing aspects of power equipment licensing.
Communicate and share programs/ideas with other nurses in the network.
Coordinate facility training of first response teams.
Provide recommendations for the improvement of safety and health within the facility.
Any other function management deems essential.
Skill Summary:
RN with a current license in the state in which the facilities are located.
Experienced in Occupational Health Nursing (5-7 years preferred) or related field of nursing.
Must have current CPR/AED certification
Knowledge of Workers Compensation Law and OSHA regulations
Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Board Certification preferred
Bilingual a plus

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
