Maintenance Materials Coordinator
Responsibilities The Maintenance Materials Coordinator role manages all aspects of the materials and contract resources involved in daily maintenance. The two primary focus areas are: 1. Materials logistics – working with the Maintenance Planners and with the Purchasing Department to ensure the all the right parts are in the right place at the right time. 2. Contract Administration – Creating detailed scope of work statements, initiating contract requests, coordinating with the Engineering, Production, and Maintenance Execution Departments, and managing contract resources while on site.
Description · Coordinate and secure the material and specialty resource requirements to fulfill the daily, weekly and monthly work schedules in the operating areas of the mill. · Expedite parts, materials, tools, equipment and services to comply with the scheduling timing of work orders. · Work with Maintenance and Purchasing to facilitate the shipping and return to site of equipment to be repaired or rebuilt by external vendors. · Prioritize job material requirements based on level of urgency · Manage, monitor and assist with sourcing vendor contracts/ sub-contracts. · Manage contract change requests, follow-up quotations, revisions, terms and conditions with vendors. · Administer contracts in accordance with company and customer policies and procedures, provide interpretation and analysis of contract documents and review and evaluates requests for changes in or revisions of contracts that involve technical specifications, cost, or schedule impact on the company. · Assists in the development of long- and short-term objectives to ensure that programs and efforts are directed toward achieving company goals. · Initiate proactive and corrective actions to assure objectives are met. · Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Additional Requirements · Must be able to work scheduled weekends · Must be able to work scheduled 24 hour call duty, which may involve extended hours on site · Must be able to work in an environment which is physically demanding and often includes climbing ladders, crawling, and working at elevated temperatures (105+ °F)
Qualifications · Required Qualifications: o High School Diploma required o Minimum 3 yrs. experience in a mfg. environment, preferably a paper mill environment o Minimum 3 yrs. experience in administration of strategic supplier relationships and contracts o Technical knowledge and experience in maintenance parts and materials – excellent understanding of materials, supplies, tools and equipment required to perform Maintenance work o Excellent Computer skills o Ability to manage intense workload with short timeframes o Strong negotiation skills o Strong written and verbal communication skills · Desired Qualifications: o Associate Degree or Technical Certification in mechanical/electrical maintenance or Bachelors Degree o Associate Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain/ Procurement or Bachelor’s Degree o Understanding of complex contractual terms and conditions o Business, cost management and quality experienceWorking knowledge of Maintenance work management system – planning & schedulingStructured process orientated approach
