The Materials Manager is responsible for directing all activities related to the flow of purchased and manufactured material encompassing the functions of traffic, shipping, receiving and production scheduling.
Essential responsibilities include: 1. Managing materials to help the operations department meet its production targets 2. Providing leadership and direction to the organization on matters pertaining to purchasing, inventory, and material flow 3. Facilitating communications within the Materials planning, scheduling, shipping/receiving, and material handling functions, and maintaining communication with the production departments 4. Leading the Materials organization in attaining key metrics: On Time Delivery, cycle count accuracy, inventory accuracy, and Days on Hand 5. Facilitating teamwork and building engagement among Business Partners within the Materials department 6. Maintaining accurate reports to support daily build requirements 7. Maintaining communication link with Division and other plants to maintain parts availability/inventories 8. Ensuring accurate WIP inventories
Job Qualifications /Educational Requirements 1. Bachelor or above in business administration or industrial engineering; focus on supply chain management will be a plus. 2. 10+ years in SCM field 3. 5+ years in the managerial position Related working experiences with 4. US or European Multinational manufacturing company preferred. 5. EMS working experiences is a plus.
