Leading manufacturer of composite bicycle wheels and related products has an immediate need of a Composite Engineer for their office in Utah.
Responsibilities:
-> Design and develop new consumer products made from composites materials, including fiberglass, carbon, kevlar, aramid, vinyl ester, epoxy -> Facilitate and contribute directly to the tasks required to take DFM (Design for Manufacturing) based Projects from Concept to Efficient Sustainable Production -> Assist in recommendations on the approval or disapproval of future design projects as related to the composite manufacturing capabilities and development -> Project Lead or Supervise other engineers -> Hands on design work with tool/molds, machine design/ integration -> Review and prepare plans and specifications, prepare preliminary project feasibility studies, prepare cost estimates of manufacturing -> Develop bid specifications for projects and equipment acquisitions
Requirements:
-> BS Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Composite) -> 5 + years Direct Work Experience in Composites -> Thorough knowledge of composite materials and suppliers and environment associated with composite projects, development and modern methods, principles and practices of composite design -> Must be proficient in FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Solid Works, GD &T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing), as well as Lean and 5S manufacturing methodologies -> AutoCAD and ProE (Solidworks) experience -> Structural Analysis experience preferred -> Must be able to travel to Asia two to three times per year
