Mechanical Design Engineering Manager
Will lead a Product Development/R&D team in complex technical product development and R&D projects, develop requirements for next generation products, and manage the timing & execution of multiple projects in queue.
Seeking ME who understands how to integrate Mechanical Design with Electrical and Systems Engineering. Will report to Manager North American Engineering and have functional responsibility to liaison with R&D, Sales, Marketing and Customers. Bring the pieces together. Focus on project management involving multiple technical disciplines
Based in Chicago, IL with interface with teams in AZ and FL as well as global operations in Europe.
Will anticipate what the customer is seeking just solve current issues with products. Thi sis NOT firefighting problems but true stage gate project management.
Requirements:
BS/MS will consider all Engineering disciplines
Experience coordinating technical talent from several different technical disciplines: mechanical systems (air flow, structures, lean design,thermodynamics), electrical hardware and controls (embedded systems, windows OS), high power circuits, optics/physics, and software.
Familiar with engineering standards and PMBOK best practices.
Experience with industrial product safety and standards; design, testing and compliance.
Experience creating budget estimates, GANTT charts, communication plans, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Project, and Computer aided design tools (e.g.,Autodesk Inventor, Cadence).
Knowledge of Phase-gate product development process.
