Job Description
This position is responsible for the design, fabrication, maintenance, and production and checking of drawings; responsible for translating Sales Engineering information into Customer and detailed drawings.
Responsibilities: * Design Sheet metal / Fabrication and flat layouts. * Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from engineers. * Revise Drawings as required to support production. * Produce new customers’ and detailed drawings as required. * Direct workflow of Design Drafter and Drafter Detailer and approve their work. * Additional responsibilities * Check drawings produced by other engineering personnel. * Maintain bills of materials in the resource planning systems. * Work from customer drawings, company drawings, or specifications. * Maintain the drawing database. * Properly writes up needed cover sheets. * Other engineering duties as assigned. * Other duties as required by management.

Education and Experience: * Associates Degree Mechanical Design required. BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred. * 5 years similar experience. * Working knowledge of 3D (SolidWorks preferred) and 2D software along with general computer skills required. * FEA (finite element analysis) preferred.
Physical Requirements: * Light lifting in assembly or other departments on shop floor for working knowledge of processes and manufacturability.
