Design and drafting support for both commercial and military aircraft electrical power products such as Generators, Generator Control Units and Power Distribution Systems.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Electronic control unit packaging design experience. * Create and revise drawings for the purpose of fabrication or to accurately define the engineering design of a product utilizing both 2D drawing packages and 3D solid models and assemblies * Assist engineering in the design of new products and/or in the redesign of existing products while working with and for engineers of various disciplines * Research available materials such as types of steel, screws, washers, etc. based on design requirements when necessary * Serve as a checker when required. Check drawings for accuracy, neatness and completeness. * Maintain and update part and BOM information in existing engineering data management system when drawings are changed or created * Create engineering change documents for drawing and document changes * This position includes customer and supplier focus, communication and participation in team events * Support configuration management by helping to process engineering changes * Embrace and participate in our Continuous Improvement processes.
Basic Qualifications: . Solid technical judgement . Demonstrated problem solving skills . Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work with individuals/teams at all levels of the organization . Associates degree in Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Design or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent . General understanding of 3D solid modelling of rotating mechanical products . General understanding of configuration management processes . General understanding of database systems . Must be able to learn and work within a rigorous set of configuration management procedures . Must be able to work with limited direction and partially defined information . Can successfully meet program schedule milestones and be aware of schedule constraints
Computer Asset: mechanical design tools . Minimum 2-4 years experience with Siemens (UG) NX & Teamcenter (preferred) . Minimum 2-4 years experience with AutoCAD (preferred) . Good working knowledge of GD&T required . Experience with Raster Editors and MS Office products such as Word, Excel and Access required . Experience with Siemens (SDRC) I-deas, CATIA v5 a plus . Strong understanding of ANSI/ASME engineering, drafting and drawing standards a plus
