Responsibilities:
-> Design and draft different kinds of water control equipment including Bonneted type high head slide service and emergency gates (self-contained), Roller gates, Bulkhead gates, Stop log gates, Ring follower gates, Radial gates, and Trash racks -> Manage a staff of mechanical design engineers, estimators, project managers, project engineers, and associated staff supporting design projects in the manufacturing and installation of hydropower equipment such as tainter gates, hoists, stoplogs, dam gates, spillway gates, roller gates, wheel bulkhead gates, intake gates, draftube wing gates, and sluice gates -> Oversee determining scope of projects, technical reviews, planning, application of codes and standards, use of best practices, and assign work responsibilities -> Ensure department work meets cost, schedule, technical, safety, regulatory, environmental, and strategic planning requirements -> Manage department budget and personnel -> Interface across departments and with executive management, develop periodic reports, and participate in strategic planning
Requirements:
-> 5-10 years experience in design of various kinds of water control and pressurized equipment Including: Bonneted type high head slide service and emergency gates (self-contained), Roller gates , Bulkhead gates , Stop log gates, Ring follower gates, ra -> Highly experienced in creating concept layouts, component drawings, complex assembly drawings, 3-D solid modeling and preparing bill of materials -> Significant experience in calculation of hydrodynamic forces on water control equipment including down-pull force analysis, flow induced vibration analysis, control of self-closing and overall lifting force calculations , stress and stability analysis with classical and Finite Element Methods (FEA) -> Strong knowledge of Codes and Standards related to mechanical engineering and water works including ASME, AISC, ASTM, CECT,AWS, API, ISO, DIN(19704,18800), CMAA, Japan Standard for gates and penstocks and Strong knowledge of materials -> Experience supervising from design/manufacturing, thru Installation and commissioning on hydro projects with spillway gates, tainter gates, roller gates , hoists and trash rack equipment -> Sound knowledge of AutoCAD 2002/2000/14 (2D & 3D), Mechanical Desktop 6, and Solid Works 2001 is a plus -> Sound knowledge of CosMos/m 2000, NISA II (FEA),PV-Elite 5.0 (Pressure Vessel design, ASME SEC. VIII), Tank 2.4 (Design of storage tanks ,API-650), MathCAD 2001, and Ms-Office (Word, Excel) is also a plus
