Position Description Position Title: Mechanical Designer
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Manages: None
Other Requirements: 40 hours per week with the possibility for some occasional overtime and weekends. General Summary Measure hot tapping equipment and create mechanical design drawings using SolidWorks. Essential Job Functions Create drawings of hot tapping equipment using SolidWorks based on existing equipment. Create drawings of hat tapping equipment using SolidWorks based on obsolete drawings. Non-Essential Job Functions Locate, organize, file, and design drawings Job Standards (Qualifications) Requires a High School diploma or equivalent Requires experience with SolidWorks software Prefer previous experience as a Mechanical Designer Prefer an Associates degree or completion of a certified CADD program Working Conditions Work is primarily conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting Shop duties require outdoor work in a shop atmosphere Interaction with other employees, as well as supervisors Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes Physical Requirements Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation. Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to investigations.
