Overview: Opportunity for a successful candidate to take a hands-on mechanical engineering and design role for the current and next generation of plasma cuttinghighamperagepower supplies at a system and detail level of mechanical design. Responsibilities: Hands-on mechanical design and engineering of plasma power supply enclosures and components that support the plasma cutting requirements (such as liquid and air cooling components, gas delivery systems, accessory features, torch and leads and related mechanisms) * Apply engineering and analytical skills in evaluating thermal and structural analysis in electronic packaging – application of FEA tools is a plus. * Define and implement new and innovative mechanical / enclosure designs and related components which support market / customer needs. * Support product testing and regulatory requirements. * Provide necessary sustaining support to existing products. * Work in a cross-functional team environment to ensure system level integration and design for manufacturability. Share expertise with other engineers in the organization. Required Qualifications * BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, with 3+ years experience in electronic enclosures and or a mechanical design field related to plasma power supplies or similar industrial equipment. * Creative ability and understanding of industrial and user design concepts that are applied to product designs. * Strong skills and experience in solid modeling / CAD. Use of SolidWorks necessary in this position. * Analytical and FEA capabilities and experience, expertise in the use of thermal analysis tools such as Icepak, CFDesign or equivalent is a plus. * Knowledge in DFMA and manufacturing methods – particularly electronic assembly, sheet metal and plastics. * Good written and verbal communication skills.
