Mechanical Maintenance Leader Georgia Pacific - Savannah River Mill - Rincon, GA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for mechanical maintenance over either the wet-end (pulp, utilities and paper machines) or the dry-end (converting and shipping) of the paper mill Lead a team of 4 to 7 hourly lead mechanics and 40 to 50 mechanics Drive safety and compliance excellence through enhanced equipment reliability, personally modeling safe behavior and driving safety ownership and accountability to the level of the individual Drive the mills vision for maintenance and reliability excellence through planning and scheduling, continuous skill-building, precision maintenance and predictive technologies Develop a close partnership with both operations and engineering in the development of long-term equipment maintenance strategies as well as support troubleshooting efforts through Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Recruit and develop new maintenance and reliability talent Manage maintenance costs to maintain the business competitive position Reports directly to the mills Maintenance and Reliability Manager
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably pulp & paper Demonstrated strong supervisory/leadership experience
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES: Strong maintenance experience in the following areas highly desired: o Paper Converting o Recycled Fiber o Tissue/Towel/Napkin Paper Machines o Power Generation and Utilities (coal fired boilers, steam turbines, gas turbines, water treatment, air compressors, etc.) Completion of Essential Reliability Engineering Skills courses highly desired (applicable only to internal GP candidates) Bachelors or Associates degree in technical field highly desired Very Strong PC skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point and capable of quickly learning new software programs Extensive experience with CMMS (Indus Passport preferred) Working knowledge of predictive technologies, Reliability Centered Maintenance and Root Cause Analysis Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated commitment to living MBM guiding principles
