JOB RESPONISBILITIES - Manage maintenance activities required to meet and exceed environmental, safety and health objectives. - Conducts and documents daily toolbox safety meetings with crew. - Ensures technician adherence to safety and occupational health procedures. - Audits work for safe behaviors, work quality and efficiency. - Conducts investigations as required and documents findings with corrective actions. - Supports development of the maintenance safety committee. - Ensures technicians receive training and development needed to support maintenance activities. - Ensures direct reports have appropriate expectations in place with line of site objectives and manages performance against them. - Supports unit reliability objectives for quality, availability and production targets. - Works with reliability resources to develop reliability strategies and implements them for fixed and rotating mechanical equipment. - Works with engineering project resources to support successful expense and capital project implementation - Supports and participates in audit activities as requested. - Manages maintenance resources to deliver low cost and high efficiency within the work control processes. - Utilizes CMMS to obtain information on scheduling, equipment history, spare parts, job plans and repair plans as required. Initiates and generates requisitions and work order notifications as necessary. Mentors technicians as needed in CMMS usage to increase overall crew knowledge. - Manages crew activities to drive high schedule adherence. - Supports and drives centralized maintenance improvements that see technician resources shared between supervisors to support site scheduling needs. - Transfers craft resources after assessing the daily schedules to other supervisors as necessary to support schedule resource requirements in other areas. - Provides accurate and timely progress updates on managed work on a daily basis including contractor managed work in areas of responsibility - Coordinates and directs activities associated with emergency work. - Monitors maintenance metrics and adjust to meet performance expectations. - Ensures accurate work order history is captured and entered into the CMMS. - Manages maintenance work execution during all of the phases of pre-TA activities, TA execution, and post TA activities. - Works with TA work groups to develop resource plans for maintenance related staffing needs on turnaround events. - Provides plant wide maintenance call coverage on rotating basisGood written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. - Good analytical and problem solving skills - Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills - Self-starter, self-motivated, independent achiever who can thrive in a team environment working closely with operations, maintenance, technical and other support staff organizations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 5 years manufacturing related mechanical experience in a supervisory position in an industrial setting. - Experience communicating with all levels of the organization (i.e., via reports, e-mail, verbally, and/or in small/large group settings) in a team environment. - Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications with proficient skills in Excel (creating charts, formatting cells, working with macros & pivot tables etc.), Outlook (creating folders, creating email messages and sending to distribution lists, scheduling appointments/meetings on calendars, etc.), Word (creating/editing documentation, formatting text, creating tables and process documentation, etc.), and MS Project (creating a project plan, adding tasks, resources and milestones). - Experience with CMMS systems (SAP, Indus, Maximo, etc.). - Experience reading and understanding P&IDs, loop sheets, equipment drawings, and electrical diagrams. - Experience with precision maintenance practices.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - At least 5 years experience at a manufacturing site in mechanical maintenance supervision in a chemical/refinery plant environment with PSM covered processes. - Experience with planning, scheduling, materials management in SAP or other CMMS system - Quality systems knowledge with ISO 9000 - Experienced self-starter, self-motivated, independent achiever with experience in a team environment working closely with operations, maintenance, technical and other support staff organizations. - Experience with precision maintenance practices lubrication best practices, balancing, shaft alignment techniques, precision measuring.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS WITH OR WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS: Able to wear all types of personnel protective equipment Able to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding in operating unit Spend long hours standing Work in outdoor environment Work in noisy environment Work in areas that are dusty and have some odor from chemicals, etc Willing to work in excess of 10 hours Must be able to take duty coverage during off hours on a rotating basis Must be available to work scheduled (planned) or unscheduled hours as needed to meet operating and/or business needs
