Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer 3\4
This position is for a lead engineering position in the 787 Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Group, reporting directly to an ECS Manager. This person will have responsibility for oversight of the 787-9 Cabin Air Conditioning and Temperature Control System (CACTCS) development, testing, and certification, leading a group of several other engineers and managing supplier engineering activity. The successful candidate will also have responsibility for the management of cost and schedule through the use of earned value tools. The qualified candidate should have education and experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and air flow analysis. Prior experience in system development and in Environmental Conrtrol Systems is required, with experience in airplane cabin air conditioning systems strongly desired. Supports/leads the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to/manages supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation of analyses of mechanical components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design. Supports proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Must be able to train and coach others. A successful

ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
