Job Description
This position is for a biologics manufacturing leader with the ability to establish a vision for an organization and then flawlessly execute towards that vision while utilizing solid lean manufacturing methodology. He or she will provide leadership and supervision to a team of superintendents, supervisors and manufacturing associates while maintaining responsibility for the implementation of all activities within the department. The primary focus of this role is to ensure manufacturing goals (safety, quality, velocity, and cost) are achieved through the maximization and efficient use of resources.
•Ensure products are provided to customers on time so that product quality, yield, operating costs and process efficiencies are met.
•Identify/prioritize/provide resources to assist the department director to meet the annual operating plan and budgetary commitments.
•Supervise the daily manufacturing operations across multiple departments.
•Emphasize training and implement control systems on multiple shifts to eliminate product discrepancies.
•Commitment to employee feedback and developmental processes.
•Interfaces with the other managers/customers to ensure quality commitments are met. Also ensure consistency in personnel policy administration across the plant.
•Help prepare budgets and forecasts for areas of responsibility.
•Responsible for assuring compliance to all regulatory requirements - FDA, OSHA, OFCCP, EPA, etc.
•Ensures adherence to all environmental, health and safety SOPs, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
•Perform analytical review, recommend, and implement corrective actions for any exception condition.
•Work with divisional personnel in support of projects within areas of responsibility.
•Support plant-wide strategic plan programs and activities.
•The individual identified should posses a burning desire to drive continuous improvement through operational excellence throughout the facility.
Job Requirements
Ability to plan and manage activities of departments through subordinates who exercise full supervision in terms of cost, methods, and employees. Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data, information and financial reports, understand and resolve technical difficulties, interface with internal engineering/technical experts and external technical representatives, manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting, and demonstrate the ability to organize and drive a large manufacturing department.
Requires a B.S. degree/or Engineering degree within a technical discipline. The candidate should have 6-8 years experience in all aspects of the manufacturing process within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or comparable environment/industry. Lean manufacturing background is preferred. Experience in high speed single piece flow manufacturing operations is a plus.
