MP&P Engineer 4\5

Materials Flammability FAA Authorized Representative (AR) with authorizations to find compliance to 14 CFR 25.853, 25.855, and 25.856 with standing or recent credentials. The person shall demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, and a cooperative attitude while completing duties in a timely manner, managing workload, and asking for help when needed. Job duties will include evaluating certification plans within the AR's area of responsibility, finding or recommending a finding of compliance within specified areas of delegation, witnessing authorized compliance tests ensuring that certification plans are complete, accepting completed certification plans within the areas of responsibility, requesting conformity on behalf of the FAA, and proposing acceptable methods of showing compliance using FAA accepted methods. The AR will also be responsible for ensuring that 8100-9 forms are complete and accurate, participating in resolving issues of compliance findings, maintaining cognizance of the regulations, directives, and guidance related to the assigned AR duties, preparing the necessary reports and related forms, and reporting apparent violations or non-compliances to Regulatory Administration and flammability certification management. Background in materials and familiarity with commercial aircraft is also desired.

Has frequent contacts with external government agencies and interacts regularly with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Preferred - Advanced/expert knowledge of relevant domestic and international government agencies and industrial organizations. Typical Education/Experience
Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 5 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
