Non Destructive Test (NDT) 3 Lead (MK)
Highly motivated individual needed for fast paced Aircraft Maintenance and Modification Center. Must be capable of certifying to the NAS410 and able to maintain an NDT Level III in magnetic particle, penetrate, eddy current, ultrasonic inspection, and x-ray in accordance with American Society for Nondestructive Testing. Successful candidate will be responsible to provide technical solutions regarding various NDI related issues, have a complete understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts as it relates to developing, validating and approving processes, procedures, and techniques. Successful candidate will utilize technical solutions to perform complex non-destructive inspection of metallic and non-metallic materials, parts, and components for porosity, cavities, cracks, inclusions, laps, and other physical defects through the use and application of magnetic particle, fluorescent penetrant, radiographic, eddy current, ultrasonic, and x-ray processes and techniques. The candidate will be required to lead and control all aspects of the NDI Lab and personnel. Enter confined spaces, travel occasionally and support overtime requirements as needed. The candidate will perform as a subject matter expert, lead and senior NDT Technician orchestrating all NDT jobs and projects for all supported programs. As an NDT Level III; the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the overall compliance requirements of all NDT inspections, training, and personnel certification. Develop test techniques and write procedures. Effectively communicate with supervisors and customers with regard to NDT processes. Trouble-shoot and evaluate equipment functionality. Conduct calibrations and inspection sequences, as well as, research and recommend new equipment. Effectively communicate NDT specifications, processes, and procedures in support of in-house inspection and external supplier activities. Be capable of determining accept/reject decisions on NDT inspections. Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with Engineering and Manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
Basic Qualifications: FAA Certification A&P, experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System, 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. experience Must be a US citizen and possess an active Secret Clearance. The Candidate must have the ability to certify to the Northrop Grumman NAS410 standard.
