Posted Position Title Non-Destructive Testing Process Engineer Career Level Experienced Function Manufacturing Function Segment Manufacturing Quality Location United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces Pennsylvania City Lawrence Park Postal Code 16531-0001 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose The Non-Destructive Testing Process Engineer will own the development of procedures and controls for all GE Transportation NDT processes. In this role you will solicit input from product design engineering drawings & requirements, operators, quality, equipment suppliers and other functions to develop process instructions & documentation, process control measures, training plans, process capability and capacity improvements. Essential Responsibilities * Define and document NDT processes, standards & methods and integrate them into the manufacturing supply chain (internal production and external suppliers)
* ID and implement new NTD technologies
* Implement across the supply chain to improve capability & poke-yoke / error proof the process
* Lead and/or support cost trade-off decisions on application of NDE, including assessment of impact on product labor cost, product reliability, overall product life cycle cost, etc
* Lead projects yielding significant improvements in compliance to product specifications
* Work with Maintenance, Manufacturing and Quality to optimize maintenance plans for NDT equipment
* Develop and implement NDT training for new hires, and periodic refresher training packages for current employees
* Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing during launch of new products: assess current process capability vs. product design requirements, lead the development of PFMEA's, and mitigate risks through appropriate process controls
* Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to processes and/or equipment; support equipment upgrades, providing program management from procurement through installation
* Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment; incorporate environmental objectives into the process solutions (e.g., devise ways to decrease or eliminate process waste streams) Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
* At least 5 years of NDT process engineering experience, including hands-on application and selection ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* ASNT NDT Level 3 Certification MDI, X-ray, UT and/or Eddy Current
* Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% both internationally and domestically Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
