What You'll Do

John Deere Harvester is seeking anOccupational Safety Analystto coordinate routine safety audits to identify unsafe conditions and actions. Within this role, you will:
*
Assure compliance with regulatory agencies and company safety and health requirements.
*
Analyze Safety data to identify opportunities for improvement.
*
Develop, direct and conduct safety presentations and training to promote and sustain awareness.
*
Coordinate, direct and administer Workers Compensation activities.
*
Review new products, equipment, processes and facilities for potential hazards and compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards; making recommendations if necessary prior to introduction.

We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor's degree in a Safety/Engineering/Technology discipline OR equivalent practical experience within Manufacturing/Operations (focused on Safetyand Health) will be considered as well In addition, we require:
* 4 or more years experience in Safety and ergonomics.
* 1 or more years experience in manufacturing operations.
* Investigation skills to determine root cause and conduct analysis of incidents.
* Knowledge of governmental/agency requirements or legislation, occupational health principles, occupational safety programs and ergonomic principles and ability to apply to the workplace.
* Understanding of the regulatory agency's and company standards for injury and illness reporting requirements necessary to document incidents.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations.
* Skills in interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolutions.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office and intranet.
A strong candidate will also possess one or more of the following:
* Experience in Illinois Workers compensation administration.
* Experience with performing safety and health risk assessments.
* Experience with updating and maintaining websites.
