On-Site Implementation Specialist Tracking Code 1000085 Job Description DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists Sales Team with Inventory management solution implementations including data collection, physical inventory counting and cross referencing, site/tool crib set up, POU configuration, staffing support needs, software installation, system integration assistance, team connectivity, customer training and ongoing customer service. Uses internal systems, tools and other resources to identify and cross reference manufacturer and competitive part numbers and/or descriptions to an MSC part number. Creates crossover spreadsheets and print bar-code labels for VMI and CMI setup using the most current process. Organize inventory areas, put material in bins and create inventory EOQ’s (minimum and maximum) baselines. Establishes cost savings baselines related to inventory levels. Provides management with weekly updates on activities regarding implementation status in the required format. Once the solution has been established, trains the customer on the use of the new solution. Has general knowledge of all inventory solutions including CMI, VMI, POU and web based. Has general knowledge of Industrial Supplies and more specifically, MSC’s product offering. Manages to ensure excellent customer relations by responding, under manager’s guidance, to customer needs consistent with MSC standards, Culture and business practices. Assist the cross referencing team when not providing implementation services at the customer site. Adds non cross-referenced items (not currently in the MSC AS400 database) into the competitive cross reference database. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required. Fosters the MSC Culture in the branch and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission. Required Skills EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent is required Associate’s degree or the equivalent is preferred. Minimum of two years industry experience is required. Manufacturing experience a plus. SKILLS: Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office with a focus on Microsoft Excel is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Access is desired but not required. Proficiency in the AS/400 sales related functions required. Familiarity with a variety of industrial products is required. Good communications skills. Broad knowledge of procurement process and knowledge of sales theory/skills is required. REQUIREMENTS:A valid driver’s license is required. Position requires over 60% travel with overnight stays required. May lift up to 50 pounds based on customer needs. Background & security clearance may be required at customer sites.
